You'll start your tour directly in Eickelborn on the Westernmersch, a 2 km stretch of which has been renaturalized on both sides. This means you'll cycle through a beautiful river landscape inhabited by numerous animals both above and below the water. You'll make many wonderful discoveries along the way. This tour offers a truly authentic glimpse into nature. Therefore, we expect you to be considerate and respect the prohibition against entering the riverbanks at all times. The view of the moated castle in Hovestadt is a highlight shortly before the end of the tour. In Kesseler, a good restaurant awaits you, inviting you to stop for refreshments. Alternatively, there is also a picnic/camping area on our designated camping meadow in Kesseler. .
Bad weather There is no such thing as bad clothing. 🙂
We outdoor activity providers are often asked, "...and what if it rains?" The answer is quite simple: We paddle, of course, because rain is a part of nature and perfectly acceptable in summer. Even thunderstorms don't necessarily mean we have to cancel the tour, as experience shows that thunderstorms usually develop in the late afternoon, when our tours are typically over. Lightning and thunder also pass quickly, and often it's enough to simply wait half an hour. Of course, there are times when a tour can't take place, but we don't cancel it three days in advance. Instead, we make the decision on-site, once the weather forecast is reasonably clear.
Outdoor events mean that you have to be prepared for all kinds of weather. And so on. important such as appropriate clothing, is sunscreen. This is often forgotten, yet it is needed much more often than a rain jacket.
